Looks like it’s most about who you know, not what you know at EliteXC and any professional MMA bout.
Top payouts went to Andrei Arlovski and Kimbo Slice in the October 4th’s EliteXC event, each receiving $500,000 from their time in the ring. Shockingly, Kimbo negotiated an increase in his pay after Ken Shamrock backed-out with the cut eye, and was paid a whopping $35,714.29 per second for his work in the ring.
Seth Petruzelli also received an increase. Total disclosed fighter payout from the event was $1,319,000. Some of the toughest fighters received some of the least money, and surprisingly Roy Nelson made more than Gina Carano - and she’s one of EliteXC’s biggest draws.
